A Western performed by Action Hero (UK) at the Historic Victory Grill •1104 E. 11th St.
April 23 8:00pm
A Western is a performance for a bar. Within the space we locate our valley, our saloon, our empty street. We find our audience and together we make A Western. The audience cheat at cards, beg our hero to love them and shoot him down. We apply the ketchup blood. We wear the cowboy hats. We want the scene where our Hero walks into a bar and everyone stops talking. We want the scene where the whore begs to be loved. We want the scene where our hero dies in a long and drawn out death.
With support from the British Council.

Sign Post Replaced!

Thanks to our generous neighbor, Emily Little, the French Legation Museum has a new sign and signpost on San Marcos Street. The former sign and post were destroyed by a hit-and-run driver earlier this year. We could not have replaced them without Ms. Little's generous, unsolicited donation. We thank her from the bottom of our hearts.

Installation of our replacement sign and post by A-Okay Signs of Hutto

Thank-you to all of our donors, sponsors, and Friends of the French Legation Museum. You are our angels.

FLM Carriage House Project Update

Thanks to generous grants from the Georgia B. Lucas Foundation Fund of the Austin Community Foundation and the Native Texas License Plate Funds, the French Legation Museum's Carriage House Visitors' Center has received much-needed help.

The old cedar roof was removed, new shakes were installed, corrosive metals were replaced with more historically accurate materials, and the exterior stairs have been repaired with new appropriate column supports. Next week the painters will beautify those wonderful new steps and the project will be complete.

These long-awaited projects could not have been realized without grant funding. The French Legation Museum is grateful to both granting agencies for their generosity in making these grant funds available to historic sites like the French Legation Museum.
