LARGEST FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR—LIVE AUCTION BENEFITING FRENCH LEGATION MUSEUM HELD AT ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE D’AUSTIN’S BASTILLE DAY CELEBRATION

Austin, TX: In conjunction with the Alliance Française D’Austin (Austin’s French Alliance), the French Legation Museum invites you to an exciting night of Franco-Texan fun in Central Austin.

The Alliance Française D’Austin is hosting its sixteenth annual Bastille Day Celebration on Saturday, July 16, 2011, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Historic French Legation Museum at 802 San Marcos Street, just east of I-35. $8 advance tickets available online here; $10 at the door; children 12 and under are FREE.

Ava Arenella, Kalu James, and Courtney Sanchez & Sway will entertain the crowd with their delightful music. Fine foods from Pascal’s Catering, ‘Say She Ate’ Mobile Comfort Foods, Crêpe Crazy, and La Pâtisserie, wine, and local beer will also be available at the event. Festival proceeds will benefit the Alliance Française D’Austin’s Frederique Moinard Scholarship Fund, which annually awards scholarships to area students. The French Legation Museum, under the custodianship of The Daughters of The Republic of Texas, will also hold a live auction with fine wines, weekend getaways, gift certificates to local restaurants and entertainment, museum memberships, and other fine items up for bid.

The French Legation Museum is a non-profit historic house museum whose mission is to promote understanding and appreciation of Texas history and culture through preservation of the legacy, structure, and collections of the French Legation of The Republic of Texas.

The Alliance Française d'Austin is a non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage and develop knowledge of the French language and French and Francophone cultures, and to foster cultural, intellectual and artistic exchanges between the USA and France and French-speaking countries.
